McEnearney Associates is proud to offer it's innovative Map Search function. Using this search tool, you can visually search for your home simply by selecting some basic search criteria from the Search Listings Toolbar and by using your mouse to select a specific area from the Metro Area map.

Step 1. Specify your search criteria. For Sale - For Rent - Active Listings: Check the appropriate box(es) to narrow your search criteria. We provide information on listings that are Active and Under Contract, however if you only want to see fully available listings, you can check that box and only fully available listings will be displayed. Minimum / Maximum Price: Default value for these criteria are $400,000 and $800,000 respectively. Make sure you specify your price range. Rental Hint: If you are looking for a Rental, change these values to see what's available in your price range. Minimum Bedrooms / Minimum Baths: Let us know the how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need - at a minimum. Single Family: Select what type of home you are looking for - Detached, Townhouse, Garden 1-4 floors, Mid Rise 5-8 floors or High Rise 9+ floors. Default value is All types. You can select multiple types by holding down the shift key and clicking on your selections using your left mouse button. Order By: Select how you would like listings displayed-by price, by status or by days on the market. For the Map search, we display up to 40 listing "sites" per page. A listing site (home for sale) is represented by a colored dot. On our map, Active listings are green dots and under contract properties are red dots.

Step 2: Click and drag your mouse over the desired location. A red box will show you the area you have chosen. In this example, we are selecting an area encompassing Alexandria.

Step 3: You are looking at a detailed section of Alexandria with 40 dots representing properties that are Active (Green) and Under Contract (Red). Now, take your mouse and hover over any of the dots. A small window with basic property information and a thumbnail photo of the house (if available) will be displayed. See Step 4.

Step 4: Hovering over the dots brings up basic listing information and a thumbnail photo. Move your mouse and hover over another property — information for that property will pop up. This screen will show the first 40 properties based on your “Order By” criteria. If more than 40 properties are found, clicking on Next will show the next 40 in your list. Now, take your mouse and move it over to the thumbnail. Click with your left mouse button and complete property details will be displayed for that listing. See Step 5.

Step 5: You are looking at partial details for this particular listing. It is an Active Listing. Listing Detail information includes Subdivision, ADC Map details, List Date and all of the publicly available information from the multiple listing database. Clicking on your Browser Back button or the Previous Results button located on the left will take you back to the map.
